All to myself. (at U of M Fine Arts Building)
probably one of my most inspirational and influential photographers i’ve come across is Kyle Thompson. i remember seeing his work posted on reddit about a year or so ago and i was captivated by the imagination and narrative found within his work. i’ve been working on a series of photographs for a group project entitled “In Quotes” in which i have to create photos that are in conversation with that of another artist. naturally, i chose kyle. the mystery and surrealism present in his pictures is beyond what i can think up of, and i hope that by emulating some of his work i’ll get an idea of how he thinks.
the photos here are samples and test runs i did for the final project which will be done in black and white film, and good ol’ dorothy here is used as a place holder where i, or someone else, will be. if you haven’t already, definitely check out Kyle’s work. you won’t regret it.
you can find the originals of the photos here and here.
I like the number. And I only hope it gets larger from here.
an exploration in film photography
i didn’t have anything better to do tonight, so here’s a thing i made.
I don’t know who this is, but he’s raking the leaves in my yard, so I’m cool with it.
so i tried to make a podcast today. good progress.
so i watched some people dump some hot metal into sand today. that was cool.
This has been my evenings as of late. #doodles #drawing #monsterenergy #robotwith3dglasses
